Why work in Churchill?
Welcome to Canada’s hidden treasure: Churchill, Manitoba.
Churchill is a remote town in northern Manitoba, Canada on the west shore of Hudson Bay, roughly 110 kilometres from the Manitoba/Nunavut border. It is most famous for the many polar bears that move toward the shore from inland in the autumn, leading to the nickname “Polar Bear Capital of the World” that has helped its growing tourism industry.
Whether you are a single person or a family, Churchill has a lot to offer you! The community is very close knit and welcoming. There is something for everyone! The Town Centre Complex, which houses all of the recreation facilities for the community, boasts an indoor swimming pool, an indoor skating rink, a curling rink, a bowling alley, a movie theatre, a public library and an indoor playground for you and your family to enjoy.
The outdoor life is phenomenal with bodies of water on both sides for boating, kayaking, and canoeing in the summer months. The landscape is made up of tundra terrain which is perfect for four-wheeling in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. If you enjoy hunting and fishing, this place is for you with multiple seasons of fishing, goose hunting, caribou hunting and much more.
The winter months are filled up with many activities to keep people active during the long winter: gymnastics, skating lessons, swimming lessons, curling, hockey, sewing, and so much more.
Aside from a fantastic life outside of work, The Churchill Health Centre offers an equally fantastic career inside work. We work together as a team and encourage growth and opportunity for all our staff. We offer a relocation allowance, as well as furnished subsidized housing to our out-of-town hires. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to: health care and dental, life insurance, travel allowance, pension, income protection, disability insurance, as well as northern living allowance which is an additional payment to offset the cost of living in a remote area.
